DeepSeek Harness First Task: Workspace and Model Checklist

A reachable Web UI is only the first checkpoint. Select the intended workspace, configure a model and start a small read-oriented task. Ask for something you can verify locally, such as the test command declared in the project, before requesting a broader change.

Evidence status: Official documentation reviewed at dsh-v0.2.1-alpha.1 (5badb15). npm and PyPI release identities are separate; no newer local runtime result is claimed. Re-check the linked first-party source after a new release candidate.

Select the directory deliberately

The process has an invoking directory, but a fresh Web UI still needs you to choose a workspace. Select a small project whose contents you understand. A disabled composer can reflect a missing workspace or model selection.

Use an answer you can check

Ask: Find the test command in this repository and name the file that defines it. Compare the answer with that file. This separates a plausible answer from an inspected result.

  1. Confirm the selected model and workspace.
  2. Inspect the active permission settings.
  3. Review any requested operation before approving it.

Save the next step

Use the setup checklist to record completed stages on this browser. Once the baseline works, move to a small change with a clear acceptance check. Share the guide link with a teammate rather than sharing your workspace contents.
